SAINT SARKIS CELEBRATES CHRISTMAS HOLIDAY

Sunday, December 18th, St. Sarkis Armenian Church celebrated the Christmas Holiday with Divine Liturgy under the auspices of Archbishop Vicken Aykazian, the children’s Pageant presentation, directed by Sylvie Yessayan, and then Luncheon in the Acopian Hall. Everyone enjoyed the meal while listening Christmas music and songs; the children had an excellent time with the arrival of Santa Claus and the distribution of the gifts.

St. Sarkis celebrated Easter Badarak on Sunday, April 24th followed by a Parish luncheon in Acopian Hall.

We were pleased to have more then seventy five people with us for lunch as well as a musical program by Julia Pogosova, Maria Amiryan and Sarkis Chorbajian.

St. Sarkis Church of Charlotte, NC, Celebrates 5th Anniversary

Parishioners at St. Sarkis Church of Charlotte, NC, gathered last weekend to celebrate the 5th Anniversary of the church’s consecration—a two-day event featuring a banquet on Saturday, February 19, and services and fellowship on Sunday, February 20.

Archbishop Khajag Barsamian, Primate of the Diocese of the Armenian Church of America (Eastern), visited the our parish on this milestone, and presided over Saturday’s banquet in the church’s Acopian Hall


Saint Sarkis Christmas Party and Pageant

Sunday, December 19th St. Sarkis celebrated the Christmas Holiday with Parish Christmas Event that included the children’s Pageant presentation, directed by Sylvie Yessayan,  and then Parish luncheon in the Acopian Hall. AT ST. VARTAN CATHEDRAL, MARTYRS DAY IS HONORED THROUGH THE POWER OF MUSIC, AND DRAWS HOPE FROM SORROW

“Requiem and Resurrection,” a concert of remembrance on the 95th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide, was held in the sanctuary of New York’s St. Vartan Cathedral on Friday, April 23, as part of the Diocese’s commemoration of the milestone.

Some 800 people gathered for the event, including Ambassador Garen Nazarian, Armenia’s representative to the United Nations, along with other dignitaries and diplomats from U.N. member nations.

Jerusalem Patriarch Torkom Manoogian is Honored by Catholicos Karekin II and the Republic of Armenia, with the “ST. MESROB MASHDOTS MEDAL”

His Holiness Karekin II, the Supreme Patriarch and Catholicos of All Armenians, traveled to Jerusalem on Monday, February 15, where he presented His Beatitude Archbishop Torkom Manoogian, the Armenian Patriarch of Jerusalem, with the “Medal of St. Mesrob Mashdots.”
Accompanying His Holiness were Archbishop Navasart Kjoyan, Primate of the Araratian Pontifical Diocese in Yerevan, Armenia, and Bishop Arshak Khachatrian, Chancellor of the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin.
