Our parish, St. Sarkis Armenian Church of Charlotte, is a part of the Eastern Diocese of the Armenian Church of America, headquartered in New York City, and a part of the worldwide Armenian Church centered in Armenia at the Cathedral of Holy Etchmiadzin.

Following the 1915 Genocide, Armenians were dispersed from their homeland. Our community is comprised of Armenians and their families from all around the world. From Armenian-Americans whose families came to the United States after the genocide, to more recent Armenian immigrants primarily from Armenia and Karabakh, Baku Azerbaijan, Russia, Syria, Lebanon, and Iraq.

The community built itself up from just a handful of families, and a few years after buying its property was blessed by the generosity of a benefactor. In 2004, a generous donation was given by Mr. and Mrs. Sarkis and Bobbye Acopian for the construction of the church and connected facilities. The church was completed and consecrated on July 31, 2005.

The Saint Sarkis parish is composed of families of various ages and diverse cultural backgrounds, but all witnessing the good news of Jesus Christ, striving to reflect His love and cherishing the distinct faith and cultural heritage of the Armenian people. Please feel free to visit any Sunday and worship with us. This will be your spiritual home, bringing you closer to our Heavenly Father.
